This Week’s Historical Perspective
For freedom to live, oppression must die.
Malcolm X said freedom isn't free.
Dr. DuBois said to be willing to put yourself in the mix of difficult situations.
Douglass said the key to freedom is learning to read and write.
— The Struggle Continues —
Today we see:
— states restricting teaching black history in classroom.
— restrictions on voting in minority jurisdictions.
— cursive "handwriting" eliminated from public schools.
It's a new day for new thought followed by active participation during this time of new struggle.
Moral of the story…
When will there be a new movement to resurrect old methods that guarantee freedom for all?
